Hello to all my donors! My name is Isaac Morales, and I have lived an average American life. Born to a Cuban mother and raised with four brothers in the poorest of neighborhoods, I had always taken opportunities that would give me a more unprosperous future. In my youth I enjoyed writing, but I didn’t think of it as a profession, and with that I never took school seriously. Growing up, all I would dream about was earning money to get out of poverty, not believing that school would lead to that, and believing that I couldn’t achieve greatness. I began working when I was fourteen, first as a custodian and eventually in many different industries for years after. All I wanted to do was work and earn as much money as I could, but working so much almost led me to quitting school. My academic life was almost nonexistent and soon after led me to becoming an at-risk student. After moving to a school that took in at-risk students and taking a Vietnam War Literature course in this high school, my passion for creative writing was rekindled. My creative writing instructor helped me see my potential, and this drove me towards graduating high school and becoming an Author.  

After graduating, I married my high school sweetheart and had my first child. Fearful for my family's economic future due to the job market, I joined the military in 2008. I became a medic in the U.S. Army and in 2009 deployed to northern Iraq, a month after my second child was born. Throughout my time in the military and after I continued to write, working on my first book and saving money to publish it.  

In 2014 I was able to publish my first book, OUT: Gunnar and Bullet Part 1. I self-published through Page Publishing and enjoyed the experience, but I had slowed down with my writing as my attention to working returned. This time, no longer in Active Duty, but in the U.S. Army Reserves, I was working more to continue to provide for my wife and children. At no point had I stopped writing stories, but my finances could no longer go to self-publishing. After many years, a third child, and a mortgage later, any extra income I did make for the book went to further marketing of my book OUT: Gunnar and Bullet Part 1. 

In 2023, I re-released OUT: Gunnar and Bullet Part 1 with a new cover and received many requests for OUT: Gunnar and Bullet Part 2. Today I am requesting donations to not only help cover the cost of publishing Part 2, which will include but not be limited to copyrighting, editing, and online sales, but also cover the costs of marketing for Part 1 and Part 2. Any remaining donations will go towards my other publishing projects such as Strangewoods and Immortal.
