Support education leadership in the Twin Cities by sponsoring a teacher.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 to 'Sponsor A Teacher' - or fund the selection, training, and ongoing support of one Teach For America corps member for one year. Demand for our corps members is growing, but our ability to place talented future leaders in classrooms serving low-income students is dependent on the financial support of committed individuals like YOU. Thank you for your investment in Twin Cities students!
High five! This campaign is eligible for a $5K matching gift.
For a limited time only, the Twin Cities Sponsor A Teacher campaign is eligible for a $5,000 matching gift from an anonymous donor for every $5,000 raised as part of Teach For America's Five Million Match Campaign. Help to double the impact of your gift by sharing this campaign with others or starting your own fundraising page - simply click "HELP RAISE MONEY" to get started!
About Teach For America - Twin Cities
Our mission is to build the movement to eliminate educational inequity by enlisting our nation’s most promising future leaders in the effort. We recruit outstanding recent college graduates who commit two years to teach in Twin Cities schools and become lifelong leaders in pursuing educational excellence and equity. With extensive training and support, these corps members work relentlessly to ensure that students growing up today in low-income communities are given the educational opportunities they deserve. As alumni, they are a powerful force of leaders who act on the conviction and insight they gain from their teaching experience, working in education and all other sectors to effect the fundamental changes needed to ensure that all children have an equal chance in life.
Teach For America began placing corps members in the Twin Cities in 2009. In our charter year, 40 corps members taught in 11 schools, impacting approximately 2,200 low-income students. Since then, our corps has grown to include 92 teachers placed in 29 schools and impacting over 5,000 students.
