Support Our Teachers

Announcement: I had a gracious donor come forward who is willing to match ANY donations until January 15, 2024.  That means your money is automatically doubled!

As many of you know, I have been a math teacher and soccer coach in District 196 (Rosemount, Apple Valley, Eagan) since 1996.  Last year I accepted a new position in the district as the Middle & High School Secondary Math Instructional Coach, as well as still being a math teacher at Valley Middle School of Stem.  After being in this role for 1.5 years, I have decided to take the risk and create a nonprofit called “Support Our Teachers” as a way to fill a need and help our math students & teachers across the district.  The goal of this nonprofit will be to help fund tutoring programs, professional development, supplies, scholarships and anything else that is above and beyond what our school district would (and could) normally pay for.  For a more in-depth explanation, please check out my website at https://sites.google.com/view/sotnp/support-our-teachers-nonprofit .

Here is where I am hoping I can get your help.  Would you be willing to share this Facebook post with your friends to help spread the word across, not only FB, but other social media platforms?  Starting this nonprofit is both a challenge and a risk I am willing to take because I believe so strongly in what our teachers are doing across the district.

For those of you that are willing to make donations, there are a few different options which you will find here or on my website.  I am using a crowdfunding platform called Fundly (similar to GoFundMe) for people that want to donate instantly.  If you want to make a bigger donation and/or want a receipt for tax purposes, you can email me at [email protected] and I can help get you set up by running the donation through my Fiscal Sponsor - the RHS Foundation. Finally, if you work or own a business that likes to make donations please let me know how I can apply for the grants.
