Hello my name is Erica Garcia and I am 37 years old living in Tempe Arizona. I live with my medically disabled mother Victoria Garcia and we have became homeless since May of 2023. My mother is very sick and she needs special Care that sometimes I'm unable to provide. We live day by day not knowing if that day we will have a bed or if we will be sleeping outside. We have contacted the government agencies and resources from 211 on more than one occasion it's basically become a full-time job trying to get assistance and calling numbers one after another and getting told sorry there's no funding available. It is very scary and discouraging and we are beginning to lose hope. With my mother's illness that she has plenty of she would not survive out in the streets. She is my best friend and the strongest woman I know and I wish that I can prove to her that she raised me well enough to take care of her. We have exhausted all options and are going through a financial hardship and cannot seem to get out of it. I myself am sick as well but life still happens. I was nervous to get a GoFundMe because I didn't want to beg. What I am trying to make the story about is not about begging but a cry for help. There are a lot of people that are going through similar situations me and my mother try to tell ourselves that it could be worse and always try to pay it forward whenever we can. All I am requesting is for you to read the story and make the decision if you'd like to help us. Any assistance provided is greatly appreciated and could change our life.
